Abdussamet Subaşı received his bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical-Electronics Engineering from Atatürk University in 2008 and 2009, respectively. He obtained his master's and doctoral degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Atatürk University and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2010 and 2017, respectively. As part of his doctoral studies, he conducted research at the Institute of Aerodynamics and Gas Dynamics (IAG) at the University of Stuttgart for one year between 2014 and 2015. From 2019 to 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Rennes 1 University for six months. His main research areas include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), flow control, transition to turbulence, nano-fluids, enhancement of heat transfer, machine learning, optimization, and the application of multi-criteria decision making to heat and flow phenomena.
He worked as a Research Assistant from 2010 to 2017 and has been serving as a faculty member at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at ITU since December 2017. In February 2021, he was appointed as the Vice Director of the Graduate Education Institute at ITU.
