As part of the Arctic Energy Project, led by Prof. Dr. Orhan İnce, a faculty member at Istanbul Technical University's Department of Environmental Engineering, four part-time scholars will be hired to work on six different research topics.


🔍 Research Topics
1. Impacts of Arctic Developments on Türkiye’s Water–Food–Energy (WFE) Security 
2. The Role of Permafrost-Sourced CO₂/CH₄ Emissions in the Global Carbon Cycle and Implications for Türkiye’s Climate Policies 
3. Transboundary Effects of Arctic-Sourced Pollutants (BC, PAH, PCB, Microplastics) on Türkiye
4. Detection of Oil Spills in the Arctic Using Satellite Imagery and Artificial Intelligence 
5.  Access to Arctic Energy Resources within Global Market Dynamics: Implications for Türkiye 
6.  Logistical Challenges in Energy Transportation In Arctic and Their Impacts on Türkiye
📌 Project Duration

The project will last 42 months. Researchers will work part-time during this period.

💰 Scholarship Amount

Scholarship recipients will receive a monthly payment of 35,000 TL (gross).

🧑‍🎓 Application Requirements

Applicants must be:

Master's students or

PhD students who have passed the PhD qualifying stage.
